Laura Mercier Real Flawless Weightless Perfecting Foundation, Real Flawless Brush and Ultra-Blur Talc Free Translucent Setting Powder
The Real Flawless Weightless Perfecting Foundation ($48; sephora.com) is a new foundation from Laura Mercier, a super light, silky smooth formula with medium-buildable full coverage. It comes in 30 shades and the formula blends flawlessly with fingers or with the Real Flawless Foundation brush that is also new. The formula is hydrating and waterproof and it also has a nice silicon slip that helps with easy application. The formula is also vegan and fragrance-free, so great for sensitive skin. I tried the color Buff, which is just a tad light on me right now, but still blends in pretty well and doesn’t leave a white or gray cast. It also does not have SPF which means no white cast on medium-darker skin tones. I use the Real Flawless Brush ($46; nordstrom.com) to apply this and the brush is fantastic for a liquid texture like this one. I’ve washed the brush a few times now and it has held up really well. The shape is perfect for applying any liquid or cream product. Any dense foundation brush or fingers work too since it blends itself and doesn’t enhance large pores or skin texture.
I also recently tried the Ultra Blur Talc-Free Translucent Setting Powder ($48; sephora.com). Its a talc free powder, finely milled and perfect as a setting powder if you have texture or large pores. It gives off a blurred, airbrushed look. I would recommend going light handed with this and also to use a fluffy, not so dense brush or a sponge to set it. On very dry skin, it can look a touch powdery, so I’d recommend using it only where needed and not all over the face. I tried the color Translucent, but it also comes in Honey and Medium Deep. There’s no flashback as well and sets under eye concealer well for a few hours.
