Jo Malone Sea Daffodil And Bitter Mandarin Colognes
Sea Daffodil and Bitter Mandarin Colognes are two summer launches from Jo Malone. The fragrances are light and fresh, great to layer and also something I loved during the summer months. Bitter Mandarin ($105; sephora.com) is a zesty citrus with notes of mandarin, orange, amber, bergamot, petitgrain and iris. The opening has a slight tartness mixed with the zest from the orange and feels refreshingly clean. The amber is very mild and peeks through during dry down, though not very prominent but enough to soften the scent. The citrus notes don’t feel artificial and aren't very overpowering, while maintaining the clean freshness for a few hours. Sea Daffodil ($105; sephora.com) is a fresh aquatic fragrance with notes of Mandarin Orange, Pink Pepper, Sea Daffodil, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Vanilla and Vetiver. It's a woody aromatic in my opinion and has a light floral opening and a soft, slightly creamy dry down. The Sandalwood and Vanilla keep it interesting, while the other notes add a clean, freshness to the scent. Both the colognes had more than average longevity on a hot summer day and aren’t overly strong. The packaging is lovely and the fragrances themselves are definitely something that can be worn year round.
