My current, top 5 black eyeliners on rotation for the waterline & lash line!
The Givenchy Kohl Couture Waterproof Eyeliner in Black ($27; sephora.com) is a soft matte black and one of my favorite eyeliner formulas ever. It doesn’t make my sensitive eyes itchy or watery and the formula is easy to smudge, yet doesn’t budge when it sets.
The Sephora Collection Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner in Black ($12; sephora.com) is very nice for the price and a great basic black liner for the waterline. Its great to tightline with and the color is a pretty dark black with a matte finish. It does set quite fast though, but also doesn’t move around much.
The Pat McGrath Labs Permagel Ultraglide Eye Pencil in Xreme Black ($25; patmcgrath.com) is an almost perfect formula - jet black, very creamy, smooth and very forgiving since it takes a while to set, in case you want to smudge it out.
The Maybelline Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Sleek Onyx ($7.99; ulta.com) is a good drugstore liner, its an inky black with a slight sheen. I think the formula is great, but it does make my eyes a tad watery from time to time and the consistency can also get a tad messy in warmer weather.
The Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Noir Intense ($33. chanel.com) is another good basic black eyeliner you can’t go wrong with. I used to love the formula, but it seems to have changed recently and the liner feels slightly more difficult to use on the waterline and not as smooth. Still, a good formula and fairly long wearing.
