Miss Sicily Color & Care Lipstick ($36; saksfifthavenue.com) is a new launch from Dolce & Gabbana Beauty, a fabulously moisturizing sheer lipstick. The color range is beautiful, ranging from everyday nudes to bright pinks and deep plums. The packaging is gorgeous and the slim, yet weighty tube feels luxurious. I tried out Angelica (Brown Nude Pink) and Concetta (Fresh Pink), two very wearable colors that go on much sheer compared to how they look in the tube. They glide on the lips and once the lipstick warms up, it becomes even more creamy and almost like a pigmented balm that feels super comfortable and lightweight. The texture hugs the lips nicely and provides long lasting moisture. It leaves my lips feeling soft, is very forgiving on dryness and wears a good 4 hours before fading completely. I love sheer, glossy lipsticks any time of the year, so this one is a complete winner for me. Angelica is a perfect nude that I love with a smokey eye, while Concetta is a fresh, not too bright pink that goes with just about anything. There’s a sweet scent that fades pretty quickly and doesn’t bother me. If you love gel-like lip colors with an ultra comfortable texture and a good amount of shine and buildable color, these are just perfect!
