Malin + Goetz Votive Set ($45; malinandgoetz.com) is a three piece mini selection of Malin + Goetz’ Scented Votive Candles, new for the holidays. The kit comes with Dark Rum, Vetiver & Tobacco candles individually packed inside a gift box.
I’ve never tried Malin + Goetz’ candles before so this was a nice selection to start with. The Vetiver was the lightest of them all, while Dark Rum and Tobacco were neither to strong, nor too subtle. I’m not sure if it was the smaller size, but I did have to burn them longer than usual the first time around for the fragrance to fill up a small room. Dark Rum and Tobacco had better throw than Vetiver, but overall, they are all fabulous, scent wise. Vetiver is an earthy, clean scent perfect for warm summer nights, while Dark Rum and Tobcco, both lean towards the smokey, woody side, perfect for fall and winter. I also love how they’re all packaged individually inside boxes, so they make for great stocking stuffers too!
