The Lumiere Divine Highlighting Finishing Powder ($47; sephora.com) is a new sheer, radiant finishing powder from YSL - a very finely milled finishing powder with undetectable shimmer. The texture is almost like a cream product and the shimmer is barely there, super fine, translating to a nice sheen on the face. I’ve tried using this like a highlighter, only where needed and as a finishing powder by dusting it all over the face and quite like it both ways. As a highlighter, its the most subtle, slightly glowy and very natural looking. I wasn’t worried about going overboard since there’s no glitter or obvious shimmer. As a finishing powder, I had to go a little light handed, but the overall effect was still very beautiful. Its what I wanted the Ambient Lighting Powders to be - YSL has a much nicer finish and adds a little something over setting powders/foundations without enlarging pores. I like to use a big fluffy brush with this one, preferably something very soft, made of natural hair, just so I don’t overdo it. Overall, its a lovely powder to try - the finish reminds me of the pressed Meteorites by Guerlain, this one has a touch more of a golden sheen and the texture feels silkier.
