Dior recently reformulated and relaunched their Rouge Dior Lipstick ($35; sephora.com) line. The line now comes in two finishes, satin & matte and in a gorgeous array of shades from nudes to pinks to deep plums and reds. I picked up Promenade, a pinky brown with a bit of shimmer. Its a beautiful everyday nude pink on my skin tone and the shimmer translates to a nice sheen on the lips. I quite like the new formula, but I did like the older Rouge Dior better since those were more sheer and with a gel-like texture. Promenade is a gorgeous color and the formula is quite a full coverage cream with a lightweight feel.
The texture feels smooth and hugs lips in a nice way, but it can enhance dryness and can look a tad patchy if your lips aren’t already well primed. Theres also a strong scent to the lipstick that I’m not a big fan of. It did wear for about 4-5 hours on my lips and the shimmer wasn’t too obvious - just added a nice sheen without making it look too flat. Overall, I love the color, the formula was nice too, but preferred the old formula a little more since it was more forgiving, easier to work with and a bit more glossy. On the plus side, the color selection is fabulous - there’s an everyday nude or a pink for everyone and the darker plums and reds are super pigment packed.

DeleteThank you so much for your review, I really appreciate you posted a picture, I was hesitating since I thought the color would be too peachy for my olive medium complexion.
