Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturizer ($29.50; sephora.com) is new from Clinique, a lightweight hydrator that provides matte mosturization, blurs skin and preps it for makeup. HydroBlur is quite light, has a nice whipped consistency and a slight, silicone-y slip to it. It is more like a primer on my dry skin and helps prep skin for makeup. I also found that it helped my makeup look fresh for a few hours, but din’t do too much in the longevity department. Its a good base for the summertime or if you live somewhere very humid. I like the matte finish it leaves, my pores look a tad smaller and skin feels overall very clean and prepped for makeup. While I do like it as a primer, I don’t find it moisturizing enough for my skin type. I definitely need to use another moisturizer before this to add some hydration. Overall, if you have combination skin, this is a nice moisturizer/base, but on drier skin types, it definitely works more like a primer over moisturizer.
