I recently got to test out a few of the CEW (Cosmetic Executive Women) Beauty Insider Awards Finalists, so here are some quick thoughts on a few amazing products from Burberry, Shiseido, YSL and more! To see a full list of winners, go here to the CEW website.
YSL’s Volupte Tint-in-Oil ($32; sephora.com) is a best seller and while I wasn’t too convinced with the idea of a lip oil when it was released, I love it now, especially since it is so lightweight and nourishing. The color Cherry My Cherie turns a wearable bright pink on me and leaves a nice stain behind.
Cle de Peau Lip Serum ($95; shop.nordstrom.com) is a very luxurious gel creme that comes with a cooling applicator that is great to give a massage with. It has a minty tingle (I wish it was fragrance free) and I love it under my regular lip balm. Its a very luxurious lip product to try if you are looking for an anti aging lip treatment for dry lips and fine lines around the mouth area. Sinks in super fast and the packaging is beautiful too.
Glamglow Poutmud Fizzyz Lip Exfoliating Treatment & Wet Lip Balm Treatment Duo ($39; sephora.com) is a lip scrub and balm in one. The scrub is a sugar scrub that lightly exfoliates, which needs to be followed up with the Wet Lip Balm, a minty lip balm. I did find the lip balm a little too minty and the duo as a whole is good to maintain lips rather than cure.
Burberry Eye Color Cream ($30; sephora.com) is one of my absolute favorite shadows. Dusky Mauve is a super gorgeous color and the formula, although on the drier side, is fantastic and one I gravitate towards a lot. I would recommend trying out at least one shade from the range if you like cream to powder, mousse like shadows that come in an array of neutral colors that you could just swipe and go!
Dior Diorshow Mascara ($27.50; sephora.com) is a natural looking, volumizing mascara that comes with a big fat brush to lift stubby lashes. The pigment on this one is jet black and with the help of a lash curler, I get a lot of volume and lift effortlessly. It is rose scented too which is something I quite like.
Essie’s Gel Setter Top Coat ($9.99; target.com) is my current favorite top coat that is the best at evening out uneven polishes, giving it a high shine, jelly like finish. The brush is on the thinner side and super nice to work with for smaller nails. Its perfect for the price. See below for a manicure that I used Essie Gel Setter with - its shiny, glossy and evens out polish nicely!
Shiseido Ibuki Multi Solution Gel ($38; sephora.com) is a muti solution gel for problem spots and dryness that also helps tightening pores. I’ve used it just a couple of times and like it so far. Its a bouncy gel that feels cool upon application and is very lightweight I’ll report back once I use it on stubborn breakouts or very dry patches. The texture is nice and can be worn even under makeup.
