Extraordinary Petale ($58 for 40ml; macys.com) is a new fragrance launched this spring and a softer, more floral and a modern twist on the original Extraordinary by Oscar de la Renta. The notes include Bergamot, Mandarin, Champagne, Rose, Orange Flower, Jasmine, Amber, Vanilla, Orchid Petals and Musk. Petale is also a more youthful, less creamy version of the original Extraordinary. The opening is very floral, a touch zesty too from the bergamot and mandarin. The rose, jasmine and vanilla take over once the fragrance starts to settle down, while the musk and amber linger on through dry down. Its quite a light fragrance and one I’d wear in the spring and summertime. The longevity is average and the bottle is very similar to the original Extraordinary, in a deeper shade of pink. If you are looking for a very floral, crisp, light and youthful fragrance this spring, give Extraordinary Petale a sniff next time you are at a perfume counter!
