The Burberry Eye Color Contour Smoke and Sculpt Pens ($29; sephora.com) are new and come in seven gorgeously neutral shades. They are supposed to sculpt, smoke and add color in a subtle way. I picked up Dusky Mauve, a neutral taupe grey with a hint of purple. The pens come in a twist up form and have quite good color pay off. The color is quite buildable too and the formula glides on effortlessly with no tugging or pulling. It is, however, quick to set and needs to be worked with pretty quickly while blending or smudging. If not, the color can get a tad patchy and difficult to blend, even with fingers. On the plus side, once set, it does not budge, unless removed with a good, heavy duty makeup remover. While I haven’t tried actually sculpting with these, I do love Dusky Mauve as an all over lid color with just some eyeliner and mascara. Its just my kinda neutral that doesn’t look too close to my skintone, yet works pretty well while doing a super quick, soft smokey eye!
