The Waterproof Smokey Kohl Pencil ($19; sephora.com) is one of the very first products I’ve tried from Black|Up Cosmetics, available exclusively at Sephora at the moment. These pencils come in eight shades ranging from the basic black to neutrals and brights for a pop of color. The formula is creamy, smooth and long wearing. The texture feels similar to the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide Ons, maybe a tad less smoother, but the color payoff is quite nice. The colors don’t have names, only numbers which is one thing I’d change about these, but since the color range is quite small and the colors aren’t close enough to each other, it is quite easy to remember. I can’t speak for the entire range, but the three colors I tried are all brights, so I like them on the lower lash line for a pop of color. KS05 especially is super gorgeous and has a red tinge that makes the color very interesting! These do need a good cleansing balm or a makeup remover to get off during the end of the day and set pretty quickly, which makes them quite long wearing.
