The Synchro Skin Lasting Liquid Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 ($45; sephora.com)
is a new Spring launch from Shiseido. Sychro Skin comes with an SPF of 20 and is oil-free, long wearing, formulated to synch with skin’s unique qualities instead of covering it up.
The texture is quite fluid like, but not too watery. I use about a couple of pumps and I prefer using a dense brush to blend it out. The finish is more of a satin matte and the coverage is pretty awesome and very buildable without getting cakey. I did not need a concealer for my blemishes, just used a little bit for my dark circles, but if you have quite good skin to start with, this one will make it very flawless looking. I used a very sheer powder on top to set things in place, but even without powder, the foundation lasted pretty well on me - a good 6+ hours looking quite fresh. It is an almost matte looking foundation, but doesn’t look so very flat matte and adds a little bit of radiance without turning dewy. I used the shade Neutral 4 which is quite a perfect match, maybe just a tad warm, but very natural looking on pale winter skin without needing a bronzer. Overall, Shiseido’s newest foundation is a really nice, lightweight yet long wearing formula, the finish is a satin matte but with just a tad bit of luminosity and the shade selection is a good mix that would cover a wide spectrum of skin tones.
