Makeup, Beauty and More: Honest Beauty Truly Kissable Sheer Lip Crayon in Petal Kiss, True Velvet Eyeliners in Truly Black, Eye Opener

Honest Beauty’s new makeup line features a well edited selection of products in the most wearable colors, made with ingredients that are carefully sourced and gentle. I tried out the Truly Kissable Sheer Lip Crayon in Petal Kiss ($18; honestbeauty.com) and True Velvet Eyeliners ($16; honestbeauty.com) in Eye Opener and Truly Black, both products free of parabens, synthetic fragrances, propylene glycol, butylene glycol, petrolatum, mineral oil, SLS and SLES among others.

The Truly Kissable Sheer Lip Crayon in Petal Kiss is a twist up glossy lip crayon that provides a wash of gorgeous coral pink with buildable intensity. The color isn’t all that sheer and glides on beautifully keeping lips hydrated. It does have a slight fragrance that dissipates pretty quickly. The formula is quite nourishing and stays put for about 2-3 hours before it starts to fade. The True Velvet Eyeliners in Truly Black and Eye Opener are soft, smudgy eye pencils that can be used on the waterline and lash line. I had no irritation from the formula and while not the most long lasting or waterproof, I love the smokey smudgy effect Truly Black delivers. Eye Opener is more of an inner rim shade that brightens the eyes. The smudger that comes with it is also quite nice and soft. If you do like smudgy kohl pencils that are nice for a soft smokey eye or as a base, I’d recommend checking these out.
