Always Red Eau de Toilette ($50- $69; macys.com) is a new fall fragrance addition to the Elizabeth Arden line of fragrances. Always Red is described as a 'floriental' composition, with notes of Bright Plum, Passion Fruit, Blood Orange, Jasmine Sambac and Rose Petals in a rich, amber-y base.
The opening is rather sweet and slightly floral with the plum and passion fruit being the most prominent ones, with a slight bit of headiness from the Jasmine. I don’t get too much of the Blood Orange, though as the perfume settles down, little hints of Rose peek through. The base is rich and creamy and the dry down is mostly amber with the fruity notes lingering through. The longevity is good and the fragrance is a nice pick for fall and winter - neither too strong, nor very light that it vanishes in a couple of hours and is quite a grown up, feminine scent.
