The Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminators ($26; qvc.com; ulta.com) are a fairly new launch from the brand and feature a liquid pigment formula baked into a beautiful swirl design, with a rich, radiant finish. The Illuminators come in two colors, Gilded Honey, a warm gold and Ballerina, a peachy gold.
They are quite shimmery, very pigmented to the touch and very creamy as well. Blendability is not an issue and while there is quite a bit of fall out, it doesn’t look powdery or leave shimmery bits all over the place. On the skin, It does look very luminous, a tad shimmery as well, but not in a bad way. I like to use a very floppy brush, or even better, a fan brush to do a light dusting since its easy to go overboard with this one. Gilded Honey is more of a warmer tone and looks a little more natural on my complexion than Ballerina, but Ballerina is gorgeous even as a wash of shadow on the eyelids. Overall, these are really nice highlighters for the price, just be sure to be very light handed so not to go overboard with the shimmer.

I just ordered Gilded Honey because everyone has been talking about how gorgeous it is, but now I feel like I absolutely need to order Ballerina as well! It looks amazing in the swatches. One can never have too many highlighters, right?

Hi Tanya,
DeleteSorry about getting back to you so late. I think they'd both look great on pale skin, depending on your undertone. I've seen Gilded Honey get a little more love though!
Which one do you prefer? :) They both look gorgeous. I ordered Gilded Honey but was send Ballerina by accident. I can swap it but I thought before I do I would check to see what Ballerina looked like.
ReplyDeleteThey both look lovely but as I have olive skin I feel the golden hue is a better choice for me.
What's your opinion?
