Jean Paul Gaultier Classique Summer 2015 ($71; lordandtaylor.com) is a summer limited edition fragrance inspired by the wild Indian summer with floral, fruity and spicy notes of Clementine, Orange blossom, Sambac jasmine, Iris, Ylang-Ylang, Vanilla and Musk.
The bottle with beautiful illustrations is limited edition as well and the opening is very floral, slightly heady with a touch of powderiness to it. I get a lot of Jasmine, Vanilla and Musk as it dries down while the Orange Blossom dissipates quickly soon after the scent settles down. It is quite long lasting and definitely more of a transition scent from summer to fall, in my opinion. The dry down also has an incense like quality that keeps it interesting. Overall, if you like classic musky florals, you’ll love this one - its a good fragrance to wear on a cooler, breezy evening.
