Distillery General by Royal Apothic is a line fearing artisanal fragrances made in small batches, by hand capturing often forgotten unusual scents, available at Anthropologie. Their newest addition is the Distillery General Sea Salt ($25; anthropologie.com; royalapothic.com), featuring notes of Italian Bergamot, Ocean Salt, Peach, Melon, Mandarin, Freesia, Tea Roses & Waterlilies in a white Musk and Amber base.
The fragrance is quite unique, has decent longevity and is very fresh. It is a floral aquatic that opens up with a burst of green and fresh notes, with a little bit of tartness mixed in. The fragrance is quite strong initially but wears down in a few minutes. I don’t get too much of the musk or amber, its mostly the floral notes, the ocean salt and lilies that stand out to me. On a very warm day, the fragrance can turn slightly more tart and unusual though. The packaging is really nice and the fragrance is a nice pick for a slightly warm spring/summer day!
