Emozione Eau de Parfum ($70 for 1oz; $95 for 1.7oz; $119 for 3.1oz; bloomingdales.com), a new launch for Spring from Salvatore Ferragamo, is an elegant, feminine, classic floral woody chypre with notes of Bergamot, Iris, White Peach, Peonies, Bulgarian Rose, Heliotrope, Patchouli, Suede and Musk. The packaging is simple, yet beautiful with pretty leather accents on a warm peachy pink bottle.
Emozione is one of the more interesting, sophisticated scents I’ve tried recently. The opening is a beautiful fruity floral mix, freshness from the Bergamot mix in with a touch of the Iris and Peach. The Rose, Musk and Suede combine to give it a beautifully soft, woody dry down that I absolutely love. Emozione layers beautifully with the body lotion, which is light, quick absorbing and enhances the longevity of the fragrance when layered underneath. Worn alone, Emozione is quite long wearing as well and fades away after about 7-8 hours into a soft, not too powdery, floral. Emozione is quite a grown up scent though and not one bit generic despite having common notes seen in most woody floral compositions. I’m absolutely loving it at the moment and reach out to it every time I want a classic, yet modern fragrance that isn’t too intense. Definitely one to check out if you stop by a perfume counter!
