Laura Mercier’s new Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colors ($28; sephora.com) come in nine shades ranging from nude pinks to bright reds and saturated plums. I tried out Nude Rose and have the rest swatched, so here’s a quick review of the formula!
The Paint Wash Liquid Lip Color is a super pigmented, creamy lip color with most shades being shimmer/glitter free. Nude Rose, just as the name suggests, is a creamy rosy pink with hints of brown. It is also being re-promoted in the newest Watercolour Clouds Spring 2015 Collection. The color is a nice my lips but better shade for my skin tone and on my pigmented lips, it leans more pink. The texture is beautiful and mousse like. The color glides on effortlessly and feels very weightless. The texture feels a tad slick and does’t dry or set completely, which makes it quite non-drying and very comfortable to wear. While swatching, I noticed that the darker and brighter shades were very staining and quite tough to get off. I had no such issues with Nude Rose though. The lasting power was about 3 hours, but the color did not fade completely. The finish is sort of a satin matte with just a hint of shine. I prefer wearing it on its own as it tends to rub off with any gloss applied over. Overall, a really nice texture, easy to apply using the paddle shaped applicator and the color range is beautiful!
