I've been testing out these two new launches from Shiseido - the Perfect Cleansing Oil ($32; shiseido.com) and the Future Solution LX Total Radiance Foundation ($80; shiseido.com) , one of the first ever color products in the Future Solution LX line.
The Perfect Cleansing Oil is a Mineral and Grapeseed Oil based cleansing oil for face and eyes. It has a silky, smooth texture and manages to remove all traces of eye and face makeup. I do feel that it is a tad more thicker than most other cleansing oils I have used. The packaging is great and a little goes a long way - I use a pump and a half for the entire face. I did have to struggle just a bit with waterproof mascara though, but everything else cleanses off effortlessly, without any sort of a residue behind. Cleansing Oil is not my only means of cleansing, it is something I use on and off, and if you are looking for something basic, mildly scented, that does the job effectively, give the Shiseido Perfect Cleansing Oil a try!
The Future Solution LX Total Radiance Foundation SPF20 is a an anti aging foundation that claims to reduce visible signs of aging including loss of firmness, wrinkles, visible pores and uneven skin tone. It comes in 11 shades, I tried out O60 Natural Deep Ochre. I absolutely love the packaging - it comes in a luxurious, heavy jar with a small spatula to scoop it out. The foundation leans a bit on the thicker side and has very good coverage - its concentrated too, so I try to go very light handed on this one. O60 is a tad light for me, but moving onto winter and paired with a good bronzer, I'm guessing it should be fine. With this texture though, I like using a flat foundation brush or fingers. A good buffing brush would work as the last step to just blend everything together. The finish is satin matte, which gets a bit dewy as the day goes by. Its quite a brightening foundation that takes care of pigmentation, evens skin out really well and photographs nicely although it has an SPF of 20. I haven't been using it long enough to comment on the anti aging benefits though, but if you have dull, lackluster skin, this is a great foundation to try that won't enhance large pores, settle onto fine lines or look cakey. It does have a slightly strong scent that dissipates once blended in. A tad pricey, but since you only need a teeny tiny bit every time, the small jar should last a really long time!
