Dior's Abricot line has some fabulous products, a few of which I've been absolutely loving as part of my nail care routine. The Abricot Top and Base Coats are what I've been pretty much using of late with various polishes.
According to Dior, the Abricot manicure system is designed to work better with their line of polishes, but I think it works fine with a variety of brands. I've had great luck using it with polishes by Dior, Burberry, butter London, Essie, Guerlain and NARS. Its not the best with L'Oreal and Zoya, although those two brands do chip pretty easily for me even with their own top/base coats. Onto Dior's Base Coat Abricot ($23; dior.com), its a hydrating base coat that goes on almost clear, maybe with a hint of a peachy pink color, that evens and preps the nail surface for polish. The consistency is perfect and the brush is amazing even for my small-ish nails.
The Top Coat Abricot ($23; dior.com) is a thin, quick dry top coat that helps polish self level, protects color and adds a beautiful, glossy shine. I like the Abricot Top Coat much better than Dior's Gel Top Coat which is quite thick and starts to get goopy halfway through the bottle. I am almost done with this bottle and the consistency is still as good as new. The only problem is that it has turned a light pink color, but that's partly because I apply my top coat even before some dark polishes completely dry and this seems to have picked up a bit of the color. That still hasn't changed the way it performs or affect the color of the polish I'm using it over. With these two, my manicure lasts chip-free for about 3 days on an average, with minimum tip wear. That's a lot for me considering most polishes chip almost the same/next day for me.
Dior's Creme Abricot Fortifying Cream For Nails ($25; dior.com) is also another one of my must-haves, especially in the winter. I use a lot less of it in the summer, but its just fabulous. I'm not a fan of the scent and the texture is really thick and sticky, better suited for the night, but it heals and repairs cuticles almost from the very first time and keeps nails looking smooth and healthy. Its also quite concentrated, so a little goes a really long way.
Overall, three amazing products from Dior that I would definitely recommend for an almost perfect manicure and to maintain healthy looking nails and cuticles in between.
