Bite Beauty's newest launch, BB for Lips ($24; sephora.com), described as a "lip-enhancing five in one balm", is a sheer lip color that primes and protects lips with a beautiful hint of color. BB for lips comes in five shades ranging from a clear balm to a sheer, plummy purple. *Press Sample
The packaging reminds me of Bite's Sheer Balms, that now seem to have been discontinued, I think. The texture is soft, smooth and a bit too creamy. There's a hint of glossiness, not as much as in a regular gloss, but it does look very natural on the lips. Of the five colors that Bite has to offer, my favorites are Suede, Dolce and Tawny - these three show up pretty well on my unevenly pigmented lips while Natural and Flush are clear. All of them feel very moisturizing, creamy and I prefer using them on their own. If you like very pigmented lipsticks, you may be disappointed with BB for lips, but I prefer sheer, balmy lip products so these are right up my alley. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews for these on Sephora, but I really do love them and have worn Suede especially quite a lot and think the formula is better than a couple of the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments that I've tried (Original & Rose).
There's a tiny hint of a lemon- vanilla scent that does take a while to disappear, but it isn't strong or overpowering. If you do live in a hot and humid place, the texture is such that it does tend to melt and crumble a bit because of the creaminess, but otherwise, I would definitely recommend trying a shade or two of BB for Lips if you like sheer balms and just sheer lip colors in general for summer! Suede especially is a shade not to be missed for medium/dark skin tones.
