The brush does look promising in terms of volumizing lashes. I used two coats of Volume Plus after curling my lashes and did find that it never did make my lashes crunchy and neither did it flake after a few hours of wear. As for volume, I would say that this is quite a natural looking mascara that does add volume, but only after a good two coats of so. The formula also gets better with use and the brush is great at separating lashes compared to how it volumizes or lengthens. If you are looking for a natural looking mascara that adds a little something to stubby lashes after curling, this is a good one to try. You may be a disappointed if you are expecting mega volume or anything dramatic. On the plus side, I tried combining it with other volumizing mascaras and feel like its a great one to use prior to any volumizing mascara, to separate lashes, especially if there's a clumping problem. Its not waterproof, but quite water resistant and removes off like a tube mascara without any smudging, with just a basic cleanser.
