Kate Spade's Chubby Lip Crayon Trio ($38; shop.nordstrom.com; Nordstrom Stores, Kate Spade Boutiques) is new for the holidays. They come packaged inside a small box and the set includes three shimmery colors - Champagne (pinky beige frost), Perfect Plum (shimmery, plummy brown) and Pink Fizz (shimmery medium pink). Everything except for Champagne are very wearable on me, Perfect Plum being my favorite and the packaging is small enough to just throw into your purse! *Press Sample
These are twist up Chubby pencils with a soft, smooth texture. The shimmer isn't chunky or too gritty, but there definitely is quite a bit of it. The overall finish has a nice sheen and the crayon itself is quite moisturizing - it lasts about 4-5 hours one me. In the summer, the texture can get a bit messy, so be sure not to leave it any place warm. There's a barely there scent that absolutely doesn't bother me. Kate Spade is one of my favorite brands for accessories - love their bags, wallets and cases and the flip top packaging of this lip crayon box is definitely something I love. Overall, its a great set, a fabulous gift and the formula is neat! I just wish the lightest shade, Champagne wasn't so light and frosty looking on me, but if your lips aren't overly pigmented, you sure can pull it off.
