REN Rosa Centifolia No.1 Purity Cleansing Balm ($48; shop.nordstrom.com; renskincare.com) is my favorite cleansing balm at the moment. Its a rich cleansing balm infused with rose, pink violet leaf and chamomile extracts that cleanses, soothes and leaves dry skin feeling supple and hydrated.
I've tried my fair share of cleansing balms and like this one the most - its quite concentrated and thick, so you only need a small amount. The buttery balm transforms into a silky oil when massaged onto skin and gets every bit of makeup off my face, waterproof mascara included! Just take a while to massage it well into the skin, add water if needed, and remove everything with a warm washcloth. I also follow this up with a few splashes of cold water to finish off. While most cleansing balms leave an oily film on the skin, this doesn't. It doesn't leave my skin feeling stretchy or dry either, but I always follow up with a good moisturizer or facial oil. My only problem with this cleansing balm is that it tends to sting my eyes when a little bit gets in accidentally. That apart, its fantastic at getting all the gunk off, feels very luxurious and is absolutely amazing for dry skin!
