Burberry's new Summer Splash Collection features a couple of eye shadow palettes, a liquid highlighter and two new powder highlighters - Nude Radiance and Golden Radiance. Nude Radiance is a pressed powder form of Burberry's Fresh Glow Highlighting Fluid and Golden Radiance is a warm, bronzy version.
Nude Radiance ($48) has a soft, pearlescent glow with extremely finely milled shimmer and a super soft texture. It feels very creamy to the touch, almost like a cream product and since the shimmer translates to a lovely sheen on the skin, its very difficult to go overboard. Nude Radiance also comes with a brush, which I quite like. Its not the softest, but definitely nice to use with this sort of finely milled texture for when you need a sweep of highlighter along the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose and any other places that need a little bit of a lift and glow. I also like to use a fan brush or a soft crease brush for more precise application. It is a tad cool toned for my skintone and can leave a little bit of a white cast, but its also very easy to blend out seamlessly. On lighter skintones though, it might work well even when used all over the face for a soft glow.
There's just a little hint of gold for warmth, but on my skin, that's almost invisible. Like everything else from Burberry, this one too is super strongly scented - guess they aren't going to tone down the scent anytime soon! That apart, its a fabulous highlighter and probably one of the most subtle ones in my stash, followed by Laura Mercier's Matte Radiance Baked Highlighter (another one of my favorites, most used and highly recommended for medium/dark skin tones). The very few times I've worn this, I thought it was almost toooo subtle - so that makes it nice for those of us with large pores that don't want too much of shimmer. Unless you are under very bright lights, the shimmer is quite undetectable.

DeleteThanks for the in depth review! I think this one has a very subtle finish and suitable for everyday use. It definitely doesn't look too much on the skin :)

ReplyDeleteI got this a couple of weeks ago but mine didn't come with a brush! :( I feel a bit ripped off.. but definitely love the product!
ReplyDeleteOhh really? That's too bad! Have you tried calling the store and asking them & possibly exchange it for a new one if they permit returns?
