Alterna Bamboo Beach Summer Sun Recovery Spray ($20) is one of three new products from Alterna's new Bamboo Beach Line! Alterna has some amazing hair care, their Bamboo Kendi Dry Oil Mist being one of my staples! The Alterna Bamboo Beach Summer Sun Recovery Spray is a leave in conditioning spray that leaves hair refreshed, tangle and frizz free.
It also claims to protect and revive damaged hair, especially if you are out in the sun a lot. The scent is amazing - its a sweet summery mix of mango and coconut, that sadly doesn't linger around. The spray itself is a two part solution that is activated by shaking the bottle. I like the convenience of spray on conditioners and heat protectors. I like how light weight it feels and how well it detangles. Pretty good frizz control too, considering how very frizzy my hair gets this time of the year. However, it did make my hair a tad crunchy the next day. Now, if you wash your hair everyday and or have thick hair, it shouldn't be an issue. My hair isn't too thick and I wash it every other day so the crunchiness, especially at the ends was something I din't like so much. I just dabbed on a couple of drops of oil/serum and it was sorted out, but if you have very fine hair, this is something to keep in mind.
Overall, it is a nice little essential to have if you are out in the sun a lot and need something to help add a bit of moisture back. It is recommended to be used on wet hair & I would suggest not more than 2-3 spritzes as it can build up quite a bit on very fine hair.
Have you tried anything from Alterna's Bamboo Beach Summer Sun line?
