L'Oreal's new limited-edition Versailles Romance collection features a few of their Color Riche products in pretty pastel hues. It is a rather small collection that includes the Color Rice Balms ($7.5), Color Riche Nail Colors ($7.99) and Nail Lingerie ($9.95). A quick look at a few items from the collection!
The nail polishes come in perfect pastel colors and the formula on these were quite nice. The sheer yellow, 'Creme Puffs' was the most sheer and needed three coats for opacity. Even after three coats, I could see a bit of the visible nail line peeking through. All other colors needed two coats to be opaque. I've only worn 'Macaroon Me Madly' to test wear-time and it wore about 2 days on me after I started to see some chipping.
As for the Color Riche Balms, the colors are extremely sheer. What you see in swatches below is after 3-4 heavy swipes. I did find the texture of these to be a tad more patchy than the regular Color Rich Balms and the colors, as you can see, are glossy and sheer. 'Provence Romance', is probably the only flattering color on me. 'Bijoux! Bijoux! Bijoux!', which is a sheer white, is almost transparent on me and makes for a good base. They have a sweet candy smell, similar to the regular Color Riche Balms.
Overall, the nail polishes are lovely - most of us can easily pull of pastel polishes and they are perfect this time of the year. I'm not a big fan of lip products in pastel hues - they aren't the most flattering on me, but if you like sheer pastels, you might love the limited-edition shades of the Color Riche Balms as well!
