Stila's new Color Balm Lipsticks ($22) are a new line of full pigment lipsticks from the brand for Spring. The packaging is a nice little metal case with 'Stila' engraved in a color that matches the color of the actual lipstick, which I quite like. Valentina is a bright, bright, creamy orange. The color as such isn't the most flattering on my skintone and not something I can swipe and go. But, if you can pull of a bright orange like this one with ease, Valentina is a gorgeous shade for Spring/Summer.
These Color Balm lipsticks are loaded with pigment and go on reasonably smooth. There's enough creaminess to smooth lines and dry lips, so you don't need a lip balm underneath. I don't particularly find the finish to be glossy - it is more of a semi-matte, satin finish and the shine starts to fade after a good hour or so. I've mostly used Valentina as a very sheer layer, patted over bare lips and topped off with a gloss. It does pack enough pigment to leave behind a strong stain. A couple of complaints I have with this one though are the strong, minty smell that takes quite a while to fade and the size & shape of the tube. It is a tad too wide for my lips and works better when applied with a lip brush.
Overall, the formula and the color selection seem pretty nice for the price, but a few tweaks with the scent and a little more of a glossy finish would have made it perfect, since they are described to be glossy. If you like full on, pigmented lipsticks with an average amount of wear time, the Stila Color Balm Lipsticks are worth looking into.
Have you tried the Stila Color Balm Lipsticks? What do you think of them?

I love the sound of this lipstick. I'm a massive fan of balm stains / sheer lipsticks, they're pretty much all I'm wearing nowadays. The new Stila packaging is great too, I want one now haha xx

These aren't sheer at all, but they're very balmy! Hope you like it :)
