L'Occitane's new addition to the Immortelle line is the Brightening Face Mist ($20), an alcohol-free, face mist/toner . Enriched with floral water, this multi-tasking mist can be used as a toner, mist and makeup setting spray!
Packaged in a rather small spray bottle, the Immortelle Brightening mist has a very fine spray nozzle that releases the perfect amount of product. You only need a spritz or two for face and neck. It is one of those mists that imparts a dewy glow and plumps skin up, making it appear more nourished. When using before my moisturizer, I just spritz a small amount and pat it onto my skin, massaging the excess. A cotton pad works too. It isn't sticky or heavy, so I quite like it even as a refreshing mid-day mist.
One of my favorite ways to use this, however, is over makeup - it leaves skin dewy, glowy and takes off the white cast left by many powders. I haven't used it long enough to see a brightening effect yet, but I love the quick moisture fix it gives and how very soft & dewy it makes my skin. I'm pretty sure I can get away without using a moisturizer in the summer when using this as a toner. My only complaint is the fragrance - it is pleasant, but a tad strong and lingers around for quite sometime. Overall, if you have dry, dull skin, the Immortelle Brightening Mist is a quick way to perk up and refresh your skin without too much effort. I do wish the bottle was a tad bigger though for the price - I'm pretty sure I'll go through this one very quickly.
