Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light ($45) - a neutral peachy beige powder that perfectly balances warm and cool tones, blurs imperfections and lights up the complexion. Dim Light is exactly what it is described to be, peachy beige with a finely milled texture.
I see no hint of shimmer in Dim Light but there's a subtle, overall sheen that ends up being noticeable after buffing onto skin. I was quite clueless as to how to use Dim Light - it did look pretty blah in the pan and very matte. The texture feels super silky and there is quite a bit of fallout for the first couple of times, especially while picking it up with a dense brush. Since it is quite sheer, I love a dusting of this on top of foundations or buffing it in over BB creams and tinted moisturizers. It does work well just over moisturizer too, but it doesn't take care of imperfections/and or blemishes. I find Dim Light to be quite a nice product on my dry skin, since it lacks that powdery look and adds a subtle radiance and a teeny tiny amount of color and warmth. As for my pores, I don't think it shrinks them down drastically, but they do look a tad less pronounced.
The packaging is quite nice, typically Hourglass and quite sturdy to travel with. If you fall into the medium/dark category, Dim Light is a great way to add a bit of glow and a good setting powder for that uber natural look. If you are lighter, I do think it will add a little more of color and radiance to pale winter skin. If you are one of those lucky ones blessed with flawless skin, you'll be good to go with just a little dusting over moisturizer. As for me, I do like it, very much, but I don't think its a must-have for anyone - just nice to have, that's all. It hasn't changed my mind about using or not using other setting powders and neither is it something I can't live without, but I like the convenience and the very natural, overall effect it has.
