Burt's Bees Ultimate Care - Body Lotion and Hand Cream

A new, all-day moisture range from Burt's Bees, the 'Ultimate Care' line features a Hand Cream ($13) and a rich Body Lotion ($13) made from Baobab Tree Oil and Green Tea Extract. The range specifically designed for dry, dehydrated skin, is a great choice for winter.

The Ultimate Care Body Lotion is a thick, non-greasy, emollient body lotion. The consistency is more like a cream and takes a little massaging action to absorb in fully. Both the hand cream and the body lotion have a strong smell, almost a little medicinal. I wish the scent was a little lighter and more pleasant though. The Body Lotion does a great job at retaining moisture and especially takes care of the dry, scaly skin on my legs really well. It also relieves dry, itchy skin rather quickly. As for the Hand Cream, it is slightly more thicker than the Body Lotion, so you only need a tiny bit for both hands. It feels quite heavy and sticky initially, but sinks in well when massaged, so I prefer using it during the night. It doesn't help with dry cuticles or nails that much, but the rich, nourishing cream is perfectly suited for dry, chapped hands.

Overall, the Ultimate Care line is a fabulous, affordable, 99% natural line for dry to very dry skin. It delivers heavy duty moisture without the heavy feel. Both products aren't fast absorbing like regular moisturizers, which is something you should keep in mind. But, they are very effective and do the job without breaking the bank.
