As much as I like salon shampoos and treatments, I like to venture a lot into the drugstore aisles for some affordable hair picks. I find that a lot of hair products from the drugstores, especially the conditioners and deep conditioning treatments are just as good, if not better than a lot of salon products I've tried . These are some of my tried & tested favourites!
Neutrogena Tripe Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask($6.99) - A fantastic once a week mask for dry hair. If you have extremely dry hair, you could use more than just once a week. It nourishes, controls frizz and keeps hair tamed. If you don't have very frizzy hair, unlike me, you could get away without even using a serum afterwards.
Pantene Beautiful Lengths Replenishing Mask($5) - A lovely smelling mask that is a little lighter than the Neutrogena Triple Moisture and works perfectly well even as a daily conditioner. It doesn't weight hair down but manages to keep it tangle-free and soft with a lot of movement. I am not a big fan of Pantene products but, this one is definitely worth a shot.
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner ($3.50) - A little goes a long way with this product and the small bottle lasts forever. It definitely is not a miracle product but, perfect if you are looking for an affordable conditioner that does a good job of keeping hair soft and conditioned.
L'Oreal EverCreme Sulfate-free Cleansing Conditioner($5.99) & Nourishing Conditioner($5.99) - The Cleansing Conditioner is amazing for parched hair and great if you, like me, are lazy to use two different products. I like to use this once a week since it does have the tendency to weigh hair down. It does soften hair and leaves it very manageable though. The Nourishing Conditioner is perfect for everyday use. Since it doesn't contain silicones, it conditions without the heavy feel. Amazing product for normal/oily hair types.
TRESemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray($3.99) - One of my all time favourite heat protectants! Love this stuff when I'm using a lot of heat styling. It protects without letting all the heat fry my hair and has an amazing smell that lasts until the next wash!
Neutrogena Anti-residue Shampoo($5.50) - I use this once in a while when my hair seems to have a ton of buildup from certain products I use. This stuff is not gentle so, it is not meant to be used as often as a regular shampoo. If you have very fine hair, I wouldn't recommend. But, if you want to get the gunk out once in a while, this is perfect. I like to use LUSH's I Love Juicy as a clarifying shampoo too but, this one is a little more stronger and leaves hair extremely squeaky clean. I don't think it has anything that nourishes hair and it also smells pretty strong (not in a good way) but, it is something I reach out to when my hair is a super greasy mess!

I remember liking L.A Looks hair gel when I was a teenager, because the bottle looked cool. LOL. The gel itself is actually pretty good. Have you ever tried it?
ReplyDeleteI've never tried it but, I am pretty vulnerable to nice packaging LOL!
