I was really excited when Bobbi Brown launched the Long-Wear Eye Pencils ($24). They supposedly are Bobbi Brown's gel liners in pencil form. I love the creamy feel of the gel-liners and how they don't dry out over time unlike so many gel liners I've tried.
The long-wear eye pencils come in 6 black-based shades. "Smoke" is a blackened grey with no shimmer or glitter. It has a soft matte finish and the shade is a little more softer looking and less harsh than black. The pencil also comes with a sharpener included. As for the texture, it is smooth, very pigmented and looks very rich and vibrant with just one swipe. The texture is perfect for the waterline too. However, I did have to tug just a little bit on my upper lash line which was never a problem with the gel-liner. Sharpening the tip slightly helps but it still feels a little less creamier than the gel liner. That being said, I still love to use this on my waterline since the color stays put with just a little bit of creasing along the outer corners after about 5-6 hours. It sets pretty quickly too and is not very forgiving to mistakes so, I have to be super quick while smudging it out.
Although not as creamy as the gel liner, the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Pencil is still a nice long-wearing, wateproof eye pencil that I would definitely recommend if you have trouble with liners staying on the waterline. Smoke especially is a beautiful shade that works on just about anyone and a great pick when you want to switch up your regular black eyeliner for something less harsh.

Are these waterproof then? Sounds right up my street as I always seem to cry my eye liner off as my eyes water all the time, leaving me with the oh-so-desirable panda look.

Yup, they are waterproof! I use sweet almond oil to remove them...even a remover struggles sometimes leaving traces. If you have watery eyes, this would be a nice pick :)
DeleteOoooh!! I like this! I love the colour too!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I like how it is soft yet dark enough to look like a kohl! :)
DeleteI would definitely be willing to try this! In Black, of course. :)
ReplyDeleteThere was a black one too, rich black. It was out of stock so I picked this up :)
DeleteI reluctantly purchased 2 pencils, one in jet black and the other, green and to my amazement, both pencils are absolutely gorgeous, are easy to apply , have vey long staying power, are waterproof, don't migrate and make applying eyeliner an absolute breeze. I have to recommend this pencil, giving them an A+. Another fabulous product by the uber talented Bobbi Brown!

I know! I had to tug just a little along my lash line but works really well on my waterline! Glad you like it too :)
