Amika Oil Treatment with Obliphica Oil($34) is a leave-in treatment oil that helps nourish hair and protect from heat damage. It also contains Argan Oil that helps seal in moisture and strengthen weak hair.
Packaged in a glass bottle, the oil has a thick texture, so a tiny amount goes a long way. It also has a wonderful smell that lingers on for a very long time. If you have very frizzy hair, Amika is a great product to tame your hair and control frizz even without a blow drier. When used with a blow drier or a flat iron, the results are fabulous. Hair looks a lot more smoother with loads of shine. For fine hair, I would recommend only a very tiny amount. I use it like any other hair serum, on wet hair. As much as I like the sleek results I get from Amika, my biggest gripe is that it leaves my scalp super oily and greasy, making my hair fall flat the next day. The thick texture has a tendency to weigh down hair quite a lot so, a good clarifying shampoo is a must. Also, it lists dimethicone as the first ingredient only after which Obliphica and Argan Oil are listed which I'm not very fond of.
Overall, if you have frizzy hair and expect super smooth results without too much effort, Amika's Obliphica Oil Treatment fits the bill. Keep in mind that the blend of oils will leave scalp oily especially if you, like me do not wash your hair everyday. It works quite well on dry hair too, keeping flyways tamed and is free of parabens and artificial colors.
Available at Sephora, sephora.com and loveamika.com.
