'Berlin Rocks' is a shimmery, deep purple that needs very less effort and adds a nice pop of color, even when worn alone with just some mascara.
What I like about Essence Gel Eyeliner :
- Reasonably priced ($3.49) and packaged very well in a glass jar. The glass packaging is quite heavy, but don't all gel liners have that problem?
- Although the color is a deep, bluish purple it shows up well on me unlike a lot of purples that look almost black.
- Goes on really smooth and works great as a shadow base too.
- Does not budge! I was quite surprised to see it lasted a good 5-6 hours on me. You need a good oil based, eye makeup remover to remove it all off.
- The texture does feel a little too creamy for a gel liner because of which a thin eyeliner brush can sometimes pick up too much product. I wish it was a little more thicker.
- I'm not sure if this is waterline-safe. I never use gel liners on my waterline but if you do, this is something to keep in mind.
Have you tried Essence Gel Eyeliners? Do you like them? I'd love to know.
Oooh, pretty! I will be buying this next time I'm at Ulta!

ReplyDelete@Socialitedreams - It sure is very pretty! I think these are a brand new addition. Do give it a try if you see it! :D
ReplyDeleteI found body lotions and shower gels..no eyeliners :| :| Or is that a different Essence??!
ReplyDeleteYeah Rads, that is a different one :( This is a tiny display, easy to miss :) Did you go to Ulta or elsewhere?
ReplyDeleteNo Ulta that I know of nearby...was just looking around CVS :(
ReplyDeleteAh! CVS one is Essence of beauty. Maybe check google maps...it's worth a trip there :D
ReplyDeletewow..the color is so pretty :) Also, the way you have applied it is beautiful..Hey, could you do a tutorial of sorts to get that perfect line?it will be of great help :D
ReplyDelete@Natasha - Thank you :) I'll definitely do a tutorial sometime. But, if you have a problem applying gel liners, the Sonia Kashuk bent eyeliner brush is something you must try. It helps in precise application! :)
ReplyDeletehey appu. nicely written, you have applied it perfectly too.
ReplyDeletehappy blogging!!
Thanks a lot, Ginger! :)
ReplyDeleteCool! I was just at Ulta, couldn't find it! I'll have to look harder ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, you may have to look around a bit. I found this hidden somewhere in between the lip glosses..easy to miss :D
ReplyDeleteI've seen Essence products at my local Fred Meyer(Kroger)... so I'm guessing it's going to be available at other places now? Definitely plan on trying this eyeliner, though.
ReplyDeleteHi Kayleigh,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. I hope this brand becomes widespread in the US. Just love their stuff. Let me know if you like the gel eyeliner :)
I've seen Essence at my local Shopper's Drug Mart here in Canada. I'd bought a cheap lip gloss one day (tastier than Lip Smackers!) but next time I'll look for these, I've been bit by the gel liner bug and I'd like to experiment with colours!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm yet to review their lip glosses. The colors are fantastic though :) If you are on a gel line kick, this is a must!
