A few new and new to me haircare launches I’ve been trying out the past few weeks/months with some quick thoughts!
WEN Fall Ginger Pumpkin Cleansing Conditioner ($40; chazdean.com) is a very moisturizing, softening cleansing conditioner for fine hair. It doesn’t weigh my hair down and adds a lot of bounce and a ton of softness. I also love the spicy ginger pumpkin scent and how it doesn’t linger around too much. Great for a couple of times a week and not something I’d use on a daily basis since my scalp gets greasy vey easily.
The Overnight Repair Treatment Oils ($42; sephora.com) and Leave-In Conditioner ($28; sephora.com) are two products I am absolutely loving from Vernon Francois. The Overnight Repair Treatment Oils are fantastic as a leave-on/overnight treatment and makes my hair super soft and shiny in the morning. Although it is recommend to use one full vial each time, I do get more than one use out of it for my very short hair and absolutely love the scent, the quick absorption, the non-greasy feel and how amazingly smooth my hair feels. The Leave-In Conditioner is a detangler and leave in conditioner in one and great if you hair is drier on the ends and oilier on the scalp. Its not sticky or heavy at all. I love the barely there feel and the mild scent too.
Biosilk Silk Therapy Original ($45; ulta.com) is back and is a great lightweight serum for before styling. I feel like this newer formula is a tad less greasy and less sticky compared to the old one and very nice to control the small flyways. I can see how its a favorite for many and definitely something I can see working on all hair types.
The Nourishing Moisture Leave-in Protein Treatment ($22; ulta.com) and Smoothing Curl Cream ($19.95; ulta.com) are new from Macadamia Professional. The Protein Treatment is a lightweight leave in spray that I like on days when I air dry and the Smoothing Curl Cream adds a lot of definition to my natural waves. Its also nice prior to styling since it helps tame the frizzes, yet retains a lot of the curl pattern.
The Bed Head by TIGI Calma Sutra Cleansing Conditioner ($22; ulta.com) is a nice cleansing conditioner, smells fanatic, though I’d recommend it for someone with much drier hair than mine. Also thicker hair types might benefit from this once since it is quite rich and can weight hair down just a tad. It does the job well as a very rich cleansing conditioner. The Screw It Curl Hydrating Jelly Oil ($22; ulta.com) is a a gel-oil that helps hydrate curls and defines them without the crunch. Its quite like a thin serum and I’d recommend only the smallest amount since it can weigh hair down if overdone.
