Sheer Eye Shadow in Mulberry ($29), is one of three eye shadows from Burberry's gorgeous Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. Mulberry is a dark, plummy purple with fine shimmer. The eye shadow is just what Burberry describes it to be - sheer, soft and very creamy for a powder eye shadow.
I love the packaging of the Burberry Sheer Eye Shadows. They come packaged in a classy looking metal case inside a pouch. I'm not sure how well the heavy metal case would travel since mine had a rather noticable crack on one side when it arrived. Mulberry, although a little sheer, has the smoothest texture and blends like a dream. The shimmer is very finely milled and adds a nice sheen. It does look a lot more brown on my lids than it does in the pan. The purple tones come out when paired with the right colors, gold being one such shade. Mulberry works perfectly well as a sheer wash all over the lid and on the crease. Like most powder eye shadows, it needs a good primer to last longer. I don't see too much of creasing without a primer, but I like to use one to prolong wear time.
The Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow range has some amazing, everyday neutrals to choose from. If you are looking for bright colors that add a pop, this range may not be for you. But, if you are like me and tend to gravitate towards neutrals and softer colors, this range is something you'll love. Mulberry is perfect for autumn and one of those shades that pairs well with a ton of colors. It is quite versatile and looks great on a lot of skin tones. These are some very expensive shadows, but they also have a little more product compared to a lot of eye shadow singles. Overall, I really like the buttery smooth texture and the understated colors from the sheer eye shadow range by Burberry and would definitely recommend the range if you are a neutrals lover!

I wouldn't mind using this as a base for a smokey burgundy eye. Burberry intrigues me, but I might have to sell an arm to pay for their products. :P
ReplyDeleteI know!!! Made a huge dent in my wallet :P They have some amazing neutrals though :)
